Counselling (or psychotherapy), is defined as “the skilled and principled use of relationship to facilitate self-knowledge, emotional acceptance and growth, and the optimal development of personal resources.”(1) In other words, counsellors/psychotherapists aim to create a safe environment in which individuals can share certain personal issues and struggles which may be impacting their life in undesirable ways and, from there, offer insight and practical support for how to face these issues and move forward in a meaningful way.

Seeking support for one’s emotional, mental, or social issues takes a lot of courage—the first step towards finding help can be very difficult. Using a client-centred, values- and mindfulness-based approach, I aim to track with your readiness for change, always wanting to be respectful of where you are at while also challenging you to look inward and move forward in ways that are meaningful to you.

Those who have a ‘why’ to live, can bear with almost any ‘how’.
